Highland Multimedia is proud to have a long history of working to strengthen non-profit organizations. Below is a list of organizations we have worked with in the past. We invite any non-profit to request our help and we will do all we can to spare some time and resources.

Sign for the St. Martha’s Regional Hospital
In November 2009 Highland Multimedia was delighted to support St. Martha's Regional Hospital by designing a sign to raise fund.   

Poster and Concert Program Design for the Breanna MacInnis Benefit Concert
When Highland Multimedia was asked to design a professional poster and concert program for the Breanna MacInnis Benefit Concert we were more than happy to help. The staff at Highland Multimedia would once again like to wish Breanna MacInnis much luck in her fight against cancer and in turn recognize Ray Mattie and his band Pogey for their tireless efforts to organize such a high quality event.   

Antigonish SPCA
In March of 2009 Highland Multimedia donated a website to the Antigonish SPCA in an effort to help local animals in need to find a loving home. The new website can be found online at:  www.antigonishspca.ca.

High School Video Year Book DVD Design
A couple of entrepreneurial students from the local J.H. Gillis Regional High School asked us to donate a design for their DVD video year book and we were happy to help by producing a fun yet modern design.  

PHAST Swim Team Poster
In March of 2009 our company was able help the local nonprofit swim team by designing a poster that will increase the organizations exposure. 

StFX Business Banquet
In March of 2009 James Smeaton was a guest speaker at a banquet arranged by the Business Society at St. Francis Xavier University. In doing so he was a panelist for Community Leadership discussion.

Canada World Youth
In order to assist the Canada World Youth Highland Multimedia provided space for one of their staff to do graphic design work. in.

XEDC’s E-Business Boot Camp
James Smeaton was a guest speaker at St.FX Enterprise Development Center’s (XEDC) E-Business Boot Camp in 2008.

Junior Achievement
Highland Multimedia has volunteered five times since 2005 with the Economics of Staying In School. A program that seeks to get young people thinking about careers and how choices made today can have a significant impact on the reality of tomorrow. This program is usually delivered via two people from the business community  to class of grade nine students in the local high school.

Antigonish/Guysborough Early Childhood Intervention Program
In April of 2008 Highland Multimedia was able to lend its help by donating a gift certificate worth $200 to the annual Ham & Bean Supper and Auction.

Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship  (ACE St. F.X)
Our company worked with the up and coming professionals at ACE St.F.X to provide consulting advice as well as a full web page design and web hosting in the fall of 2007 and early 2008. We additionally provided website updates in 2009.

Antigonish Women's Resource Centre
Highland Multimedia helped recreate the local Women's Centre web site on a budget that they could afford with all the features they needed to make the page a valuable part of there information sharing strategy.

Since 1999 James Smeaton, creative director of Highland Multimedia has volunteered his time with the Depression Support Group. During his time with the organization James has fully re-designed their web presence twice, and also helped with various print promotions.

Narcotics Anonymous - Antigonish
This local organization needed some help designing a poster to inform the community of ongoing meetings. We were happy to help out with a MS Word template design that could easily be updated for the future use.

When requested to be a guest speaker for a junior business class at the local Port Hawkesbury campus James designed a presentation entitled "Future Trends In Internet Marketing" and delivered an informative discussion on up and coming technology.

RentAntigonish.ca Free Ad Space
Highland Multimedia developed RentAntigonish.ca in the fall of 2006 and has offered a free text ad space to any local not-for-profit to promote themselves and their website.

Antigonish Voices
While currently inactive, James Smeaton volunteered his time to consult and create a logo, and website for an online strategy to promote the group largely dedicated to preserving a grocery store in down town Antigonish.

2007 Antigonish Winter Games Bid
When Antigonish was preparing an offer for the Winter Games they needed a no-cost partner to help developed a website to compliment their offer, Highland Multimedia was happy to volunteer.

May Fest 2006
James had a great time simply volunteering his time to work the mini-put with the annual charity drive for our hospital.
