A note from Joan Hollett, head of
BelovedGifts.com
BelovedGifts.com is an evolution of Straight
Laced Sewing, a small Nova Scotia home
based business that has been carefully making high quality clothing since
1992.
It is BelovedGifts.com desire to search out specific high
quality products and and make them available on the internet for the
discriminating shopper, and Anne of Green Gables fan. Our goal is to sell garments that allow you feel a bit
of nostalgia for the era in which the books have been set.
A note from Ann
Semple:
Sewing and designing are my
passion. My high school graduation gift was a portable sewing machine from
my parents. With it, I discovered that I loved to create things. I began
to make gifts for people and started to sell my crafts.
I am originally from Prince
Edward Island, Canada. Each summer my family would go see the play “Anne
of Green Gables” at the Charlottetown Festival. I grew up loving Anne and
now I take delight in designing quilts with fabric pictures of her story
on them. I also love bringing her to life with my own version of a cloth
doll.
I am married (for 29 years)
to my high school sweetheart and we have four children. They have grown up
with “Anne” around the house. We currently live in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I
am completely self taught and use only my own original designs. For me
sewing is a labour of love! I hope that reflects in my work.
