Email Setup Questions
This section is dedicated to getting your email working in outlook express and online once you have hosted your web site hosted with Highland Multimedia.

How do I check my email online?

Typically you would access the following address.

http://mail.highlandmultimedia.com:8383

However, you would swap "highlandmultimedia" with your domain name. You will then be prompted with this screen. [View Image]

At this point enter your user name, which is your full email address such as "jim@highlandmultimedia.com" and then your password, which can be found in your server info file. If you cannot find this file call 902-863-9182 to get it emailed to you.

How do I setup my email in Outlook Express 6?

1st) You start by opening Outlook Express from your Start Menu. [View Image]

2nd) In Outlook Express Go To Tools On The Top Menu Bar Then Click Accounts. [View Image]

3rd) In The Account window click the Mail tab Then Add >> Mail. [View Image]

4th) Follow the wizard. Enter your name when prompted. Then enter your full email address such as "jim@highlandmultimedia.com".

5th) You will be prompted for your E-mail server names next. Keep you incoming server selected as "POP3". For your incoming mail server type: "mail.highlandmultimedia.com" only substitute highland multimedia with your domain name. Use the same settings for your outgoing server. [View Image]

6th) You will be asked for your email username and password. Your username is your full email address such as "jim@highlandmultimedia.com". And your password is the same as provided in your server info file. Lastly, do not tick log on using secure password authentication. [View Image]

7th) Click Next and then Finish

Last But Not Least!

8th) Now you need to go under Tools>Accounts then select the account you just created, then hit Properties, this will display a new pop up window which controls all the Properties of your email account.

Select the "Servers" tab at the top of that window, then towards the bottom under Outgoing Mail Server make sure "My server requires authentication" is ticked or enabled. Under "settings" ensure "use same settings as my incoming mail server". [View Image]
